Garmin Run Asia Series 2024 Expands to Vietnam: Spreading the Spirit of Sports Across Asia
The Garmin Run Asia Series 2024, a pan-Asian running event, has officially arrived in Vietnam under the title “Longbien Garmin Run.” The event brought together thousands of runners over 5KM and 10KM distances, leaving a memorable mark on the Vietnamese running community and promoting an active lifestyle and a sporting spirit across the country.
Garmin, a leading global brand in sports and health smartwatches, successfully hosted the Longbien Garmin Run 2024 on October 27 in Long Bien District, Hanoi. The event attracted thousands of athletes of all levels, each striving to achieve personal milestones. With international standards and comprehensive planning, the event was held on a smooth, low-turn course designed to IAAF-AIMS standards, offering participants an exceptional running experience in Hanoi’s cool autumn weather.
As the primary sponsor for the 5KM and 10KM distances, Garmin collaborated with Longbien Marathon, one of Vietnam’s largest and most reputable sports organizations. Through the event, Garmin aimed to create an ideal platform to connect running enthusiasts and help them achieve their personal fitness goals, sparking their journey to a healthier lifestyle.
The Longbien Garmin Run is part of the annual Garmin Run Asia Series, held in multiple Asian countries with the theme “From Zero to Hero.” To mark its 35th anniversary, Garmin expanded the series to nine major regions across Asia, including Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, the Philippines, and Vietnam, drawing over 60,000 local and international participants. This event has ignited a regional running craze, strengthening the sports spirit and reaffirming Garmin’s commitment to promoting an active lifestyle across Asia, particularly in Vietnam.

Highlights of the Longbien Garmin Run 2024
With 5KM and 10KM distances set along a beautiful course, thousands of runners of all ages and abilities embarked on a journey through local landmarks and cultural sites, painting a vivid picture of an unbounded sports spirit. The event welcomed several renowned figures from the entertainment and sports industries, including actress Nha Phuong, actress Kha Ngan, MC Hoang Oanh, rapper Dinh Tien Dat, and influencer Annie Nguyen, whose presence added excitement and demonstrated the event’s appeal.
After completing the 10KM, actress Nha Phuong shared, “My Garmin smartwatch has always been a companion in my races over the years. Garmin offered an array of side activities, including product display booths, instant photo booths, and mini-games for participants to enjoy and create memories. Notably, Garmin also presented its Forerunner series at an exhibition area, where attendees could learn more about the smartwatch’s history in the running field.
Professional Training Path for Longbien Garmin Run 2024
To kick off the Garmin Run Asia Series, Garmin has organized various training activities in each country, helping runners build their strength and techniques ahead of the main event. In Vietnam, the brand has held a series of Discovery Runs at popular sites like West Lake and Hoan Kiem Lake, along with the Lake Discovery Run online challenge, offering incentives to encourage regular practice among athletes.
Garmin also hosted online and offline workshops under the “From Zero to Hero” theme, where runners could learn about optimal running form, choosing the right footwear, nutrition planning, and maximizing Garmin smartwatch features. These sessions featured insights from top industry experts, guiding participants to improve their performance and overall health.
In line with its mission, Garmin has developed several initiatives for the Vietnamese sports community over the years, such as the Garmin Run Club (GRC) for runners of all ages and abilities. With science-based training programs led by experienced coaches, GRC has become a popular community for running enthusiasts in Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City. In the coming years, Garmin also plans to launch the Garmin Cycling Club (GCC), providing a space for cycling enthusiasts to enhance their skills and training effectiveness with guidance from professional cyclists.
