FedEx Boosts Asia-U.S. Shipping Capacity to Support Growing Trade
Vietnam customers benefit from increased Asia-U.S. shipping capacity through a new five-times-weekly Boeing 777F service, strengthening supply chains for semiconductor manufacturing, data centers, AI infrastructure and premium e-commerce
Federal Express Corporation, one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, has expanded its trans-Pacific network with an additional 567,000 kilograms (1.25 million pounds) of weekly capacity between Asia Pacific and the United States. The new five-times-weekly Boeing 777F service provides additional capacity for Vietnam businesses across advanced manufacturing, semiconductor production, AI infrastructure and premium e-commerce during one of the busiest trading periods of the year.
The new service operates through three routing variations connecting our Asia Pacific hub in Guangzhou and subregional hubs in Shanghai, China, Osaka, Japan, with our gateway in Clark, the Philippines, via Anchorage, Alaska, to the FedEx World Hub in Memphis, Tennessee. For Vietnam customers, the enhanced network adds Clark to the existing Hanoi-Bangkok connection, providing an additional link to FedEx’s U.S. network with greater capacity and flexibility. It also strengthens access to the broader intra-Asia and trans-Pacific network, supporting industries that depend on the reliable movement of high-value, time-sensitive shipments, including semiconductors, servers, and other components powering AI infrastructure.
The enhanced network also introduces a new five-times-weekly connection for Asia Pacific customers to Dallas–Fort Worth via Anchorage, providing an additional gateway to one of the United States’ leading technology and data center markets. The connection strengthens access between Asia Pacific manufacturing hubs and Vietnam businesses across the Dallas-Fort Worth region, supporting industries that rely on the movement of high-value, time-sensitive shipments such as semiconductors, servers, and other critical components supporting the expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.
The additional capacity comes as businesses navigate growing trans-Pacific trade volumes and increasingly interconnected supply chains. According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Air Cargo Market Analysis, the Asia-North America corridor grew 9% year on year in July 2026, making it the fastest-growing major air cargo trade lane globally.[1]
The U.S. was Vietnam’s largest export market in the first nine months of 2026, with exports reaching USD 140 billion, according to Vietnam’s National Statistics Office.[2] As the two countries continue discussions on trade cooperation, reliable logistics services remain important in helping businesses across Vietnam reach customers and markets overseas.
“As Vietnamese businesses expand into major U.S. markets, reliable capacity and connectivity are essential to turning growth opportunities into reality,” said Ee-Hui Tan, managing director, FedEx Vietnam and Cambodia. “By strengthening our trans-Pacific network, we are giving exporters greater confidence to scale their shipments, respond to growing customer demand, and keep goods moving reliably and in a timely manner, particularly during peak periods.”
FedEx’s role in connecting Vietnam globally was also recognized during a September 2026 meeting between Vietnam’s President and General Secretary To Lam and FedEx Corporation’s President and CEO Raj Subramaniam. During the meeting, To Lam acknowledged FedEx’s more than 30 years of operations in Vietnam and its contribution to connecting Vietnamese businesses and goods with global markets.
